Maison la Belle Vie is a 4.5-acre vineyard that has some of the highest quality wines in Colorado. Planted in 2002, Maison la Belle Vie introduced their first vintages in 2006 including a Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Rosé, and Muscat – a dessert wine that is traditional in the Loire Valley of France. Small batches of Reserve wines such as Merlot, Syrah, and Petit Verdot as well as the famous Vin de Peche are available. The Vin de Peche is a wine made from a Muscat grape and peaches, a delightful recipe from Mr. Barbier’s family that has been handed down through the generations since the late 1800s. A new addition to Maison la Belle Vie is a handcrafted walnut wine fortified and aged for six years.
If you’re looking for an amazing food and wine experience, ask about the Charcuterie board. This includes a variety of cold meats, cheese, olives, hummus, fruits, chocolate, and bread. For two people, it is $35.00 and for four people, it is $60.00.
Mr. Barbier has utilized his time-tested knowledge and skill to grow the best fruit at Maison la Belle Vie, which provides the foundation for their great wine. His experience and expertise in the vineyard in addition to his intimate knowledge of the arid high-desert region of western Colorado makes it possible to make quality wine. The age-old practice of “dry-farming”, a technique that works well with the arid climate of western Colorado, allows for maximum results that only add to the complexity and flavor of the fruit.
